He was predeceased by: his father Paul Herbig; and his son Matthew. He is survived by: his wife Debra Herbig (Karp); his mother Marjory Herbig (Mahan); his children, Lindsey (Joe), Mary and Paul (Ellen); his stepchildren, Ryan (Sara), Brent (Jandi), Donnie (Kim) and Cory; his brother Brian (Connie); his nephew Ryan (Samantha); his niece Brandi (Tim); his cousin Colleen Mahan; and his grandchildren, Stella, Alex, Ben, Reese, Owen, Donnie, Sydney, Khloe, Hazel and Logan.
In lieu of flowers memorials will be used towards planting a memorial tree in Pecatonica Sumner Park.
