She was predeceased by: her father William Scharr. She is survived by: her husband James; her children, Samantha Lawson (Zachary) and Carli Wise Vyborny (Austin); her grandchildren, Maverick and Grayson Lawson; her mother Shirley Hines Dieterman; her stepfather Dave Applegate; her siblings, Bernie Scharr (Dawn), Louie Scharr (Kathy), Peggy Joe Scharr, Billie Joe Scharr and Nicole Trip; and her sister-in-law Lori Olea (Alex). She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew.

She was a strong supporter of the Neurofibromatosis Foundation.
