It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Purple (Pearl City, Illinois), born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on September 1, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Schaffer and Ruth Schaffer (Bain); and her brothers, Donald Schaffer and Eldon Schaffer. She is survived by: her spouse Thomas J. Purple; her children, Thomas Jr. (Tina) of Florida and Christina Southwick (Patrick) of Byron; her grandchildren, Tyler Volkers (Andrea), Brandie Mowell (Nick), Ashley Gronewold (Andrew), Ryan Southwick (Kaleb), Amy Mullens (Nick), Jeffrey Purple (Sara) and Jacquelyn Entenza (Samuel); her sister-in-law Carol Kulas; and her friend Karen Smith (Yuko Sugata). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
