He was predeceased by: his parents, James Townsend and Verneil Townsend (Bohnsack); and his brothers, George, Robert and Edward.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Myers; his children, Jodi Nieman (Rob) of Pearl City, Tim Townsend of Pearl City, Daniel Townsend (Tracy) of Pearl City and Jason Townsend (Terri) of Mt. Carroll; and his grandchildren, Nikki Nolan (Andy), Kyle Nieman (Shelby), Courtney Tucker, Seth Townsend and Keaton Townsend. He is also survived by his 7 great grandchildren.
