He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin H. Mortensen and Mildred J. Mortensen (Wendell); his siblings, Gerald Mortensen and Delores Leebold; and his stepson Scott Young.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his children, Carla Jaquet (Roger) of Erie, IL, Christopher Mortensen (Christine) of Colona, IL, Jeffrey Mortensen of Erie, IL and Jodi Youngberg (Jim Garson) of Erie, IL; his siblings, Clark Mortensen (Darrellyn) of Erie, IL and Donna Titus of Moline, IL; and his close friends, Derek and Carlee Tessendorf. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Harvest Bakery (916 Albany St, Erie, IL 61250).
