We bid farewell to Shirley Ann Scott of Payson, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 3, 2025 at the age of 89. Shirley Ann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Hughes and Frances Hughes Chaney; her former husband Don Hammond; her grandfather Norman Scott; her son Terry Straube; her brother Donald Hughes; her son-in-law Larrie Brown; and her grandson Lennie Brown.
She is survived by: her daughter Christine Brown; her grandchildren, Terrie Fryrear (Terry) of Loraine, IL and Russ Brown of Loraine, IL.; her great grandchildren, William, Elijah, Lillian Fryrear, Hunter Brown and Kenna Tatman; and her nieces and nephews, Larry Gooding (Karen Krim), Melissa Gooding (Josh), Dion Hughes, Sheila Hughes and Francine Hughes.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home (823 Broadway St, Quincy, IL 62301).
Memorials may be made to Cuddle Cat Rescue or Loraine Community Church.
