Shirley G. Duncan
(February 10, 1935 - December 10, 2013)
Shirley G. Duncan, 78, of Paxton died at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday, December 10,
2013, at Presence Covenant Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013, at
Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with Pastor
Kenneth Chumbley officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Shirley was born February 10, 1935 in rural Ludlow a daughter of John A.
and Eva E. Chumbley Irvin.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin (Stan) Stimmel-Bollhorst of Decatur; 6
grandchildren, Josh (Jean) Stimmel, Travis Stimmel, Zach Stimmel, Jake
Stimmel, Jeremy Murden, Lindsey (Greg) Houtzel; one great granddaughter,
Taylor; three sisters, Jan Stalter of Gifford, Rosanne (Bob) Cler of Oakwood,
Kay (Rich) Vermillion-McCool of rural Seymour; one brother, Victor
(Carol) Irvin of Penfield and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gayle Murden and Chad Duncan; two sisters and three brothers.
Shirley graduated from Fisher High School. She was a licensed realtor,
broker and auctioneer. She was a Champaign County realtor for more than
30 years and was currently working for Re/Max For You Realty, Rantoul.
She was a member of the Champaign County Board of Realtors and was a
volunteer at the TIMES Center, Champaign.
Shirley enjoyed antiques, music and interior decorating. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley never knew a stranger and always had a tender heart for those in need.
