With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eldon Christian Johnson of Paxton, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 3, 2025 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eldon Christian Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Johnson and Maria Johnson (Fretty); his former wife Betty Johnson (Miller); his siblings, Howard Johnson and Lucille May (Johnson); and his stepsons, Terry Smock and Danny Smock.
He is survived by: his spouse Delsie Garmon Fruhling; his daughter Jodi Johnson; his grandchildren, Travis Enghausen (Ashley), Jordan Lenart (Cody) and Dalton Dettmering; his son Bradley Johnson (Christi); his grandchildren, Zac (Taylor), Eli, Mariah, Luke, Chance (Kristin) and Maggie; his stepdaughter Katrina Cheney (William Dick); his grandchildren, Ashley Cheney (Abraham Mellish) and Kaitlyn Cheney (Andrew Dona); his stepson Gary Smock; and his grandchildren, Wendy Graham (Chris) and Jason Smock (Alaine). He is also survived by his 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baier Family Funeral Home (406 E Pells St, Paxton, IL 60957). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church (186 North 1100 East Road, Elliott, Illinois 60933).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.
