We are sad to announce that on April 25, 2022, at the age of 67, Richard S. Weitzel of Pawnee, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Weitzel and Mary Alice Weitzel (Stevens); his wife Regina Cass; and his siblings, Judy Weitzel, Mary Ellen VanAmburgh, Tom, Jerry and Don Weitzel.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Kelso (Jamie) of Athens and Jamie Riggs of Ashland; his grandchildren, Caleb Kelso, Neveah, Kinzley and Braelyn Riggs; his sisters, Sally King of Paducah, KY and Carol Wendling (Bill) of Springfield; and his sister-in-law Cherrie Weitzel of Auburn. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
