We are sad to announce that on January 17, 2025, at the age of 100, Edwin Gibbs of Pawnee, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Edwin had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Edwin may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Gibbs and Minnie Gibbs (Adams). He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Fry (Wayne) of Melbourne, FL, Judith Hill of Mattoon, IL, Janice Ramirez (Peter) of Garden City, KS, Chris Edwin Gibbs of Hayes, VA, Laurie Reische (Jay) of Rochester, IL and Maria Gibbs of Taylorville, IL. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A reception will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sutton Memorial (327 N Clay St, Taylorville, IL 62568).
