With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Betty J. Clay of Pawnee, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Betty left this world on September 29, 2024 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Castle and Myrtle I. Allen Castle; her husband Denzell R. Clay; and her sisters, Shirley Harlan and Jeanie Scott.

She is survived by: her children, Eddy D. Clay (Nicholas) of Springfield, Barbara S. Underwood (Dean) of Springfield and Linda L. Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; her granddaughters, Sheila Cutright, Jennifer Johnson, Aimee Beierre and Candy Preston; her great grandchildren, Nathan, Melody, Peyton, Casen, Brayden, Jackson and Weston; and her sister Cheryl A. Ward (Terry) of Pawnee. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
