He was predeceased by: his parents, John Prentice (Charlotte) and Charlotte Prentice (Wiley); his wife Amber Prentice (Meyer); his son Robert Noel Prentice; his grandson Janson Murray; and his pets, Fort Silky and Dasha.

He is survived by: his children, John Prentice (Stephanie), Deanna Murray (Dana) of Milan, MO and Clinton Young (Elizabeth) of Princeton, IL; his daughter-in-law Mary Ann Saraparu; his grandchildren, Emily Prentice of Somonauk, IL, Mitch Prentice (Hannah) of Galesburg, IL and Evelyn Young of Naperville, IL; and his pet Cassie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
