He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Joseph and Ada Caroline Bates (Arnold). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Bates; and his children, Jim Bates (Amy) of Patoka and Jeanine Bohan (Jim) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Bill's honor to the Patoka Christian Church and will be accepted for the family at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka.
