He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jack McCarthy and Peggy McCarthy; his wife Maureen; his sons, Patrick and Michael; his siblings, John (Cathy), Mary Ann, Nancy Beres (John), Colleen, Sheila Rahlfs (Tom) and Dan (Shannon); and his siblings-in-law, Mike (Patty), Colleen McCague (Eoin), Tim, Megan, Dan (Karri) and Katie Garrity.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cooney Funeral Home (625 Busse Hwy, Park Ridge, IL 60068). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (2215 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618).
