She was predeceased by: her siblings, William Schmidt (Jean), Gladys Bersch (Otto), John Schmidt and Dorothy DeLuca (Frank); and her grandchildren, Bess Ann and Adam Whitson.

She is survived by: her children, Janet Whitson Markus (late Frank Markus), Kimberly Scalzo (late Stephen), Valerie Nicholson (Steve Jacobson), Randall Nicholson (Karen) and Gail Nicholson (Thomas).
