He is survived by: his parents, George Henkel and Gertrude Henkel (Bradshaw); his wife Ruth; his children, David of San Diego, CA, Carol O'Connell (Jerry) and Pat Workman (Jay); his grandchildren, Erin O'Connell, Megan Syrios, Hilary Gardner, Erik Henkel and Sara Henkel; his great grandchildren, Barrett Gardner, Ellis Gardner, Azalea Syrios, Levi, Claire and Scarlett Castro; his sister-in-law Marilyn Henkel (Bartle); and also Ruth Ann (Nelson).
