He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. James Simmons and Anna Mae Throneburg Simmons; and his wife Mary L. Washburn Simmons. He is survived by: his siblings, Steven Ray Simmons, John Arthur Simmons, Edward Eugene Simmons and Jacqualwynn Switzer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
