She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl L. Collier and Doris Collier (Tomlinson). She is survived by: her husband John Dwight Parkinson; and her sons, Scott Parkinson (Nancy) of Oxford and Jeff Parkinson of Paris. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Oliver United Methodist Church or to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
