He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon "Pearl" Mathews and Laura Mathews (Barnes); his former wife Audra Barnett; and his siblings, Bette Mayer, Viola Wooley, Alice Mathews and Hughel Mathews.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Eldredge; his sons, Kile Mathews (Darcie) of Paris and Shane Mathews (Heather Wright) of Jacksonville, Florida; his stepchildren, Hunter David of Bloomington, Jessica Cline (Greg) of Paris and Shannon David of Paris; his sisters, Edna Bright of Paris and Molly Bee of Paris; and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kendall and Kadyn Mathews. He is also survived by nine step grandchildren.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Bell Ridge Christian Church.
