He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lee and Mamie L. Colter (Parker); his son Larry Colter; his daughter-in-law Julia Williams Colter; and his siblings, Dewey Colter, Randall Colter, Odell Colter, Agnes Jarrett and Carol Moser.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Colter of Paris, Illinois; his daughter Shirley Stoltz (Robert) of Paris, Illinois; his grandchildren, Linda Sherer (Joel) of Paris, Dale Colter of Paris, Katherine Vaughn (Cody) of Paris, Brian Stoltz (Lauren) of Charleston and Lisa Winters (Steve) of Tolono, Illinois; and his brothers, Luther Colter (Paula Williams) of Paris and Fred Colter of Savoy, Illinois. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
