He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Toensing and Rachel Toensing (Krug); and his siblings, Gene Toensing, Clayton Toensing and Carolyn Homp (Judith).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Suffern; his children, Maynard Toensing Jr. (Shelley) of Crete, Nebraska, Faith Toensing (Jerry Hatley) of Albuquerque and Andrew Toensing of Albuquerque; his sister Gloria Krebs (Jake) of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; his grandsons, Steven Toensing and Jacob Toensing (Morgan); and his great grandchildren, Judah and Ava. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Child Development Center in Paris, Illinois or to Immanuel Lutheran School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
