He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl Rossiter and Viola Hansen Rossiter; his wife Sally Pate; his stepsons, Troy Pate (Penny) of Georgetown and Scott Pate (Kristie Rogers) of Beloit, Wisconsin; his daughters, Lucinda Williams (Gale) of Paris, Brenda Roberts (Bill) of Danville and Tamara Hemrich (Ronny) of Oakland, Illinois; his daughter-in-law Shirley Pate; his brother Richard Rossiter (Sue) of Ocean City, Maryland; and his daughter Rita Snook. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
