He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Mildred Coogan (Valsetti); his former wife Joyce L. Babb; and his sister Pat Ward. He is survived by: his wife Linda Beauchamp (Hutson); his children, Johnny Coogan (Betty) of Toledo, Richard R. Coogan (Jennifer) of Mooresville and Mickie J. Welty (Tim) of Mooresville, Indiana; his stepchildren, Denise Mattingly (Doug) of Paris, Kristal Hutchison (Troy) of New Goshen, Robin Baugh (Shane) of Paris and Johnie Beauchamp of Shirkieville, Indiana; and his brother Keith Coogan (Roxanne) of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to a veterans' charity of the donor's choice.
