He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Fitzsimmons and Winfred May Fitzsimmons (Simpson); and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Fitzsimmons, Ronnie Fitzsimmons, Richard Fitzsimmons and Ruby Fitzsimmons.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Fitzsimmons, Johnny Fitzsimmons Jr., Jerry Fitzsimmons, JoAnn Scott and Shannon Lacy; and his brother Fred Fitzsimmons. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
The family has asked memorial donations be made to Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
