He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Elam and Etta Perter Elam; his wife Martha Etta Griffith Elam; his granddaughter Pam Cassady; his siblings, Donk, Jack, Grover, Hattie, Mary and Pearlie; his grandson Jimmy Ray McClarey; his grandson-in-law Andy Shotts; and his son-in-law Roscoe McClarey.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann McClarey of Paris, IL, James S. Elam (Jeanette) of Las Vegas, NV and Mike Elam (Sharon) of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great -great grandchildren.
