He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Rhoads and LaDonna Rhoads (Watson); his stepfather John Griffin; his son Dyke Allen Rhoads; his daughter-in-law Karen Spesard Rhoads; and his siblings, Winston Rhoads, Fern Keltz and Juanita Lenahan.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Richards (Barbara) of West Union, Tony Rhoads (Kathy) of Paris, Rich Whightsil (Renee) of Vandalia and Andrea Rhoads Trapp (Kyle Kenney) of Paris. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and twenty three great grandchildren.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Paris First United Methodist Church or Shriner's Hospitals For Children.

“I just found this obituary today (8/6/2024) and am sorry to hear of Harold's passing. He was my uncle and played catch with me when I was a young boy interested in baseball. My mother was his sister Ferne, who passed away 18 years ago. My name is also Harold, and I was told that I was named after my uncle Harold.
