He was predeceased by: his father James Jay. He is survived by: his mother Suzanne Staley (Mace); his wife Dawn Michelle Simons; and his brother Jimmy Staley (Charlotte) of Terre Haute. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to Disabled American Veterans.
