He is survived by: his significant other Teresa Thomas of Paris; his sons, D. J. Johnson (Matt) of Mattoon, Brent Peebles of Mattoon, Jerry Thomas (Debbie McGilvrey) of Paris, Jeff Thomas of Paris and Robert Gosnell (Lacy) of Paris; his siblings, Gordon Peebles (Suzanne) of Terre Haute, Indiana and Maggie Borach (Craig) of Paris; his granddaughters, Kendra, Macie Thomas, Bailey and Tenley Gosnell; his great grandchild Ronan Hunter; and his uncles, Tom, Vernie Tillman and Lynn Martin. He is also survived by niece, several nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.
