She was predeceased by: her parents, Shelborne Sams and Gertrude Sams (Dauer); her children, David Michael Powell, JoEllen Powell and Lynne C. Conn; and her brothers, James Sams and David Sams.
She is survived by: her spouse Eugene R. Powell; her children, Richard Powell of Sorento, IL, Lisa Harris of Panama, IL, Susan Wharry (Daryl) of Panama, IL, Christopher Powell of Chicago, IL and Melissa Key (Christopher) of New Port Richey, FL; and her siblings, Robert Sams of Belleville, IL, Jack Sams (Karma) of Sacramento, CA and Carolyn Bryant (Wayne) of Belleville, IL. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
