She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiram Bland and Lona Bland (Harlow); her husband James Eldon "Buck" Russell; her children, Ronnie Russell and Brenda Shoraga; her grandsons, James "Jamie" Russell and Brandon Kamalii; her great grandchild Destanie Maeann Lenover; and her siblings, Earl Bland, Hester Allen, Frances Warren, Dorothy Matthews and Fred Bland.
She is survived by: her son Melvin Russell (Cindy) of Pana, IL; her grandchildren, Shelly Rakers, Dan Worley, Rebecca Russell (Terry Gillaspie), Amy Schoonover (Shannon), Melvin James "Moe" Russell (Amy), Dusty Kamalii (Steve), Austin Sherwood (Kaleigh), Vanessa Hironimus, Brenna Kamalii (Jaylyn Reiss), Carlie Kamalii and Braden Howell (Kamalii); her great grandchildren, Kaylee Pawlowski (Jeremiah), Conner Rakers (Taylor), Gary Fore, Tyler Russell (Abby), Brittney Fore, Jared Lees (Kate), Kristen Thomas (Josh), Joshua Lenover (Taylor), Mathew Lenover (Rachelle), Lexie Lenover, Karley Lenover, Bow Lenover, Allie Spracklen (Nick), Breanna Schoonover (Brett), Shania Schoonover (Garrett), Brenden Schoonover, Dylan Russell, Zaibry Russell and Kezdyn Russell; and her siblings, Jane Ramsey and Archie Bland. She is also survived by great-great grandchildren & great-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the McCracken-Dean Funeral Home (308 E 2nd St, Pana, IL 62557). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials in Opal's honor may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
