He was predeceased by: his parents, Oral "Tex" and Imogene Rhodes (Russell); his wife Joan Marie Rhodes; his siblings, Larry Rhodes, Ronnie Rhodes, Gene Rhodes, Dottie Rhodes and Linda Rhodes Polley; his nieces and nephews, Chad, Randy, Karrie and Jill; and his pet Butterball.
He is survived by: his grandson Antjuan Ray Rhodes of Pana; his stepdaughters, Cindy Scholes (Leonard) of Vandalia, Kimberly Coen of Taylorville, Amy Wright (Todd) of Shelbyville and Holly Smith of Pana; his siblings, Gary Rhodes (Donna) of Pana, Carl Rhodes (Penny) of Shelbyville, Janet Robertson of Shelbyville, Rick Rhodes of Shelbyville and Debbie Stephens (Jeff) of Shelbyville; his sister-in-law Val Rhodes of Shelbyville; and his pets, Bentley and Tootsie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
