She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Hicks and Maggie Hicks (Jackson); and her husband James L. "Jim" Vandenbergh. She is survived by: her children, Jim Vandenbergh, Jr. (Jean) of Pana, IL, Dean Vandenbergh (Tonja) of Pana, IL and Scott Vandenbergh of Fulton, MO; her grandchildren, Ryan Vandenbergh (Jessica), Rachel Vandenbergh, Aaron Vandenbergh (Kim Perkins) and Cristyn Austin (T. J.); her great grandchildren, Alexis, Aurora and Adriana; her sisters, Thelma Barker (Myrvle), Janet Carroll, Alta Shivers, Nancy Murtaugh and Cheryl Miles; and her sister-in-law Bonnie Hicks.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (303 S Locust St, Pana, IL 62557).
Memorials in Dorthy's honor may be made to Sacred Heart School or Pana Community Mission Center and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
