He is survived by: his spouse Lorene Lorton; and his children, Don "Donnie" Gilmore (Judy) of Mattoon, Karen Braye of Pana, Ron Gilmore (Brenda) of Fairhope, Brenda Kehl (John) of Assumption, Kevin Gilmore (Pam) of Taylorville and Brent Gilmore (Anna Strate) of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
