It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine Compton of Pana, Illinois, born in Shelbyville, Illinois, who passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Frederick and Lydia Jane Schouten (Morris); her husband Rev. Thomas Compton; her mother-in-law Juanita Compton; and her sister-in-law Beth Schouten.
She is survived by: her children, Kurt Compton (Tiffney) of Witt, IL, Karl Compton (Carly) of Findlay, IL and Kendra Finley (Chris) of Ramsey, IL; her brothers, J. Fred Schouten II (Debra) of Celebration, FL and John C. Schouten of Benton, AR; her father-in-law Frank Compton of Shelbyville, IL; her brothers-in-law, David Compton (June) of Tower Hill, IL, Charles "Chuck" Compton (Kathy) of Shelbyville, IL and Steve Compton (Carol) of Shelbyville, IL; and her grandchildren, Vanessa Compton, Sierra Compton, Alexa Compton, Wyatt Daniels, Lilly Compton, Melody Finley, Gabriel Finley and Thomas Finley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
