It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Garoufalis (Palos Hills, Illinois), who passed away on March 7, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, George Mathews and Theodora Mathews; her significant other Byron L. Garoufalis; her children, Matthew Garoufalis (Cathie), Maria Chase (Mark), Leon Garoufalis (Ann Marie) and T. Mark Garoufalis (Lenore); her grandchildren, Byron (Michelle), Nicholas, Leah, Marissa of Stephanie, J. B., Alexis and Luke; her stepgranddaughters, Michelle (Felix) and Barbara (Randy); her great grandchild Eleni Irene; and her children, Irene and Philoptochos.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
