He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennie Vlahakis and Gust Vlahakis; and his sister Helen Ford (Vlahakis). He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Tina" Vlahakis; and his children, Dean Vlahakis (Lynda Pinto), Deborah Bakas (late Steve) and Nicolette Vlahakis (James Rocska).
