He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leander Garoufalis and Mary Garoufalis; his significant other Irene Mathews; his brother Angelo Garoufalis (Olga); his children, Matthew Garoufalis (Cathie), Maria Chase (Mark), Leon Garoufalis (Ann Marie) and T. Mark Garoufalis (Lenore); and his grandchildren, Byron (Michelle), Nicholas, Leah, Marissa of Stephanie, J. B, Alexis, Luke, Michelle (Felix) and Barbara (Randy).
