He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Leo and Catherine Hames (Buedel); his brothers, George (Catherine), Anthony "Bud" (Eleanor "Babe"), Robert "Bob" (Vera) and Leon "Lee" (Darlene); and his brother-in-law Thomas "Tom" Matyniak.
He is survived by: his wife Marianna (Matyniak); his children, Lauren, Jeff and Steve; and his sister-in-law Carol Holland (Matyniak). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with their children and grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kerry Funeral Home (7020 W 127th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A prayer was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Alexander Catholic Church (7025 W 126th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
