We are sad to announce that on February 19, 2024, at the age of 59, Kara Bridges of Palmyra, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde G. McNeely and Wanda Schuetz McNeely; her husband Howard Bridges; and her brother Brian McNeely. She is survived by: her son Blane Bridges of Palmyra; her siblings, Kyle McNeely (Donna) of Palmyra, Brenda Jo Oxley (Doug) of Modesto, LaDona Hammond (John) of Modesto, Laura Moore (Duane) of Lincoln and Joy Thibadeau (Brian) of Scottville; her close friend Randy Hires of Waverly; and her nieces and nephews, Arlo and Bandy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Palmyra American Legion Post 1034.

“We had the best kid block growing up. The McNeelys, the Littles & the Williams. They were friends that feel like family. We had a signal that one of us would go outside & yell whoo, whoo, whoo & the other kids would come out to play. I would play with Kara & Teresa L. My Mom loved Wanda & I can see why. Even though I had not got to see Kara for years, those childhood memories seem not so far away. Kara will be remembered. Rest in peace. Prayers for family & friends.”
