She was predeceased by: her husband Norman J. Leja; and her father Stanley Krol. She is survived by: her children, Natalie Clinton (Robert) of Cupertino, CA and Mark Leja of Chicago, IL; her granddaughters, Katie, Emily and Audrey; her mother Helen Krol; and her brothers, Stanley Krol (Linda) of Gilbert, AZ and John Krol (Julie) of Carlinville, IL. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (742 W Madison St, Girard, IL 62640).

“You have my deepest condolences and prayers. Chris was a wonderful woman and caretaker. I know when she left Belleville she didn’t even blink. She was a good friend a good mentor and a very spiritual person. She had an effect on my life That will last for my lifetime.. I’m sorry I won’t be able to be there, but we are having a special mass for her here at St. Augustine. It will be offered in her name. She was respected and loved by many Of us In Cursillo and many prayers are being offered.”
