With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Lowis of Palmer, Illinois, born in Byrdstown, Tennessee, who passed away on May 8, 2024 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Wanda Lowis to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Dowdy and Bertha Jane Dowdy (Rigney); her husband Howard Lowis; her sons, Don and David Lowis; and her siblings, Ray Dowdy, Roy Dowdy, Belvie Hogge, Elizabeth Cravens and Sylvia Mahan.

She is survived by: her children, Doris Melvin (Mal Hildebrand) of Tovey, IL, Dale Lowis (Mary) of Palmer, IL, Jim Cummings (Dawn) of Interlochen, MI, Danny Lowis (Sande) of Waverly Hill, GA, Leslie Overcash (Dana) of Esmond, N. D., Vernon Lowis (Maureen Dowdy) of Taylorville, IL, Bill Lowis (Mary) of Morrisonville, IL, Richard Lowis of Palmer, IL, Gary Lowis (Tammy) of Taylorville, IL and Steve Lowis of Palmer, IL; and her sisters, Opal Lowis of Springfield, IL, Nellie Fleming of Rochester, IL and Deanna Palaschak of Springfield, IL.. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Wanda may be made to the Palmer Community Center.
