He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph and Laura Steele Sr. (Waddle); his daughter Lavon Streight; and his brothers, Clifford Steele, Glenn "Buzz" Steele and Joe Steele Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Lenora Steele of Taylorville, IL; his daughters, Gerri Conrath (Keith) of Taylorville, IL, Cathy Lee (Mike Miller) of Auburn, IL, Vicki Charles (Ted) of Riverton, IL, Krystal Steele (Steve Lopez) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Sixteen; his son-in-law Wes Streight of Raymond, IL; and his sister-in-law Jean Steele of Palmer, IL. He is also survived by Sixteen Grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren.
