He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Kent and Frances Kent (Hanover); his grandson Daniel Garrard; his sister Janet Lang; his daughter-in-law Teresa Kent; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Lang and Roland Justison.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Rich Kent (Melanie) and Jill Anderson (Riley); his grandchildren, Maranda Charles (Chad), Eric Rariden (Toni), Haley Collins (Sky), Brittany Kent (Micah Atencio), Kayla Mendenhall (Rick), Kiley Hurst (Mason), Mandy Green (Corey), Tasha Cafin (Justin), Carrie Messel (Donald), Amy Charles (Garen), Casey Anderson and Nick Anderson; his sister Helen Justison; and his brother-in-law Terry Miller. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Goodwine Funeral Home - Palestine (501 W Lamotte St, Palestine, IL 62451). A masonic service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the "Alzheimer's Association" or to "Grace United Methodist Church", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
