He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Shields and Pearl Shields (Wiseman); his son Daniel Paul; and his siblings-in-law, David Koch of Valparaiso, IN, Hap McIntyre of Chesterton, IN, Jackie Holdren (Missouri), Andrea Lee of Valparaiso, IN, Carole Pangburn of Valparaiso, IN and Janice Coslet of Knox, IN.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Koch; his children, Cindi Parker of Palestine, IL, Bonnie, Jerry Sanders of Oblong, IL, Scott Shields of Westville, IL and Dottie Shields of Robinson, IL; his grandchildren, Alyssa Parker (Ron Robinette), Summer (Nick Inboden), Reyna Shields and Noah Shields; his great grandchildren, Rowan and Layla; and his sister Rosemary Brock of Palestine, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
