He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Shields and Mona Shields (Phillippe); and his siblings, Patricia Tomkowiak, Omer Lee Shields and Tony Shields.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda (Casey); his daughters, Debbie (Brian Medsker), Rhonda (Tim Eller), Becky Mikeworth of Robinson, IL, Kathy (Daron Hoalt), Wanda F. (Jim Woodard) and Kari Tye of Robinson, IL; his stepson Charles Vahl of Palestine, IL; his sons-in-law, Nicki, Justin Hill of Robinson, IL and Kalley York of Peoria, IL; and his siblings, Marciann Bolden of Ottawa, IL, Steve Shields of Sheridan, IL, Beverly Casey of Millington, IL and Doug Shields of New Concord, KY. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
