He was predeceased by: his father Gerald Thorburn. He is survived by: his wife Katherine; his mother Ellen Drinan; his parents-in-law, Eileen, Tom Justus, Bob and Jen Garrison; his brother Jim Thorburn (Lynn); his siblings-in-law, Laura Beaty (Robert), Greg Garrison (Allyson), Rob Garrison and Charlotte Garrison; his nieces and nephews, Tyler, Haden, Miles, Ella and Lennon; and his children, Millie, Sophie and Harmony.

I first met Patrick at a parent-teacher conference when our son Kevin was in his AP US History class at Rolling Meadows H.S. I had never felt more at ease with a teacher at any other of Kevin's school conferences. His passion for teaching, life, his students...was evident. No wonder Kevin commented on how Mr. Thorburn was his favorite teacher! We will always remember that Kevin was lucky enough to be his student.”
