He was predeceased by: his son Michael Pontarelli Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Marian "Keeley" Lindner; his children, Christine Pontarelli (Slobodan Dzikoski), James Pontarelli and John Pontarelli; his granddaughter Zoe; his siblings, Valerie Burgess (Barry), Robert Pontarelli (Karen) and Louise Cosmano (James); and also Piper Pontious (Kyle).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Lustgarten Foundation in his memory.
