With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jose S. Shapiama of Palatine, Illinois, who passed away on February 21, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Sr. and Eugenia; his wife Dina Elida Shapiama-Prado; and his siblings, Magda Tejda and Mirtha (late Johnny).
He is survived by: his children, Tirza (David Takacs), Deborah Maggiore (Philip), Joel (Sylvia), Jese (Connie) and David (Lori); his grandchildren, Michael (Heather), Mercedes (Mitch Gasparitis), Josh, Dina, Jessica, Samantha, Emily, Jese, Logan, Frankie Salvaggie, Marianna and Nico; his great grandchildren, Jade, Anakin, Giovanni, Gianna, Leo, Izabella, Killian and Kohen; and his siblings, Francisco (Teresa), Maria and Nelly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Michaels Funeral Home & Cremation Care (800 S Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193). A prayer will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Maryhill Cemetery (8600 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714).
