He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Fischer Laurie (Alex) and Christine Doyle (Kevin); his grandchildren, Madelyn, Katelyn, Evelyn and Brooklyn Doyle; his parents, Ralph Fischer and Jeannett Fischer; his siblings, Katherine Fischer (Ope), Theresa Fischer, Lisa Linke (Rich), Paul Fischer (Judy) and Ralph Fischer, Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Tiffany Wright (Kevin), Rich Linke (Amelia), Ryan Linke, Nicholas Linke, Kelsey Fischer, Lara Blaize and Yemi Blaize; and his uncle Edward Timm (Jack).

“I met John at a McDonald's in Arlington Heights that we both frequented. He was interested in my 73 BMW motorcycle so we started chatting. Over the next couple years we would have breakfast together frequently. Covid stopped that but we kept in touch via e-mail. My son is an up and coming mechanic and John always took at interest in him and sent good articles to encourage him in his pursuits. I will miss John.”

“I learned of John's passing today and am very saddened. I give my deep condolences to John's family. John and I have corresponded throughout the years via phone and email. John's last email to me was on August 1. John had been sending me possible jokes for a book he was working on. John did so much to make Uncle Ed's last years enjoyable. It was such a pleasure to exchange views with John. He was a terrific man and will be missed. Louie Lawent”
