He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles John and Emily Marie Novak; and his wife Judith Novak. He is survived by: his children, Robin Tucker (Neal), Keith Novak (Debra) and Jeffrey Novak (Maura); his grandchildren, Casey Novak, Scott Tucker, Jordan Tucker, Corey Novak, Cara Novak, Elizabeth Novak and Delia Novak; and his great grandchildren, Lelia Carlisle, Liam Tucker, Riley Novak, Lance Tucker, Rowan Tucker, Raif Tucker, Catalina Tucker and Camila Tucker.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home (201 N Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

“I'm so very sorry to hear about Gilbert. He was a wonderful person. We spent time together. Talking about Judy and his dogs. When the weather was nice we would take walks. He liked going to Eurofresh to shop. I will make a donation to the ASPCA because we were both animal lovers. I will think and miss you for a long time. Your family is in our prayers. I would be at the service but I'm having surgery that morning. Suzanne Newton.”
